Pedro Acosta will move up to MotoGP in 2024, but after many attempts by KTM to find another team in the category with two more bikes available, the truth is that negotiations haven’t gone as well as desired and the «solution» could be… a somewhat alternative proposal and the «bad luck» of Jack Miller.

The international press is reporting that KTM may «sacrifice» the rider who only arrived in 2023 in order to open up a seat for the young prodigy.

If, on the one hand, Brad Binder seems to be secure and is the preference of the manufacturer, which even recently announced the renewal of the south african until 2026, this could leave Miller in a precarious situation since he has a contract until 2024.

In theory, Miller’s future for another season is contractually secure, but the situation could take a turn for the worse given the australian’s poor results in recent rounds.

The Moto Sprint website speaks about a possible new hypothesis in which KTM would offer Jack Miller double his current salary to accept the role of test rider alongside Dani Pedrosa, at the same time as enticing him with 10 (!) wildcard participations.

What’s more, we mustn’t forget that the satellite team, GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3, still has two riders under contract and it has already been mentioned on more than one occasion that #44 will have to continue riding for the team.

Maybe a 1 rider per family rule would be best. JM can stay until the end of his current contract and the Spanish brothers can race for 2 spots between the 4 of them. PA can take 1 of the free seats. IMO, not all of them deserve to keep a seat year on year anyway.

Alternatively, PA will have to wait a year because there is no seats in 24 for him on a KTM bike. If Dorna want to limit the number of seats and most riders enter multi year contracts, then not every Moto2 winner can expect to progress straight into MotoGP.

If Jack takes that ridiculous offer, he’d be a winner. Why? Becuuse he banks 2 years salary and potentially as many points as he would in a full-time factory ride, in a single season. Go Jack!
