While the new BMW F 800 GS is the right bike especially for entry-level riders, the BMW F 900 GS Adventure is very suitable for extended adventure trips and long, demanding tours. All three models have been significantly updated and now offer, among other things, an even higher level of standard equipment, as well as a new transmission.

The F 900 GS features many far-reaching innovations. The bike’s range of uses has been considerably extended thanks to its improved off-road qualities, combined with a substantial weight reduction of 14 kg compared to the previous model, making it a particularly sporty F Series model.

Driving with an advanced 2-cylinder in-line engine with greater capacity, more power and control of the engine’s pulling torque. In the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS, the advanced 2-cylinder in-line engine introduced in 2018 with the F 850 GS provides greater driving dynamics. The main reason for this is the increased capacity of 895 cc (previously 853 cc). With a drive range of 270/450 degrees, the engine produces a particularly emotive sound. On the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure it has an output of 77 kW (105 hp) and on the F 800 GS 64 kW

(87 hp). In addition to a significant increase in peak power of 10 hp each, the new engines are also characterized by a much more complete torque curve, greater pulling power and faster acceleration.

Two driving modes, ABS Pro and DTC as standard. Pro driving modes with additional driving modes, driving mode preselection and engine drag torque control as standard optional equipment.

The new GS models in the F series already offer the two driving modes “Rain” and “Road” as standard. DTC dynamic traction control, cornering-optimized ABS Pro and dynamic brake lighting. With the “Pro Driving Modes” available as optional factory equipment, the dynamic qualities of the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS can be exploited even more intensively thanks to the additional driving modes, driving mode preselection and engine drag torque control, as well as Dynamic Brake Control DBC.

BMW F 900 GS with new fuel tank and plastic rear section, significantly lighter. New fully adjustable inverted telescopic forks on the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure.

The new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS are based on a sheet steel frame, which integrates the in-line 2-cylinder engine as a supporting element. The 14.5 L plastic fuel tank of the new F 900 GS is a completely new development, saving 4.5 kg in weight compared to the steel tank of the previous model. The F 900 GS features a completely redesigned rear section that gives it an even more dynamic look and saves around 2.4 kg in weight. A further 1.7 kg is saved due to the Akrapovič rear silencer. The front wheel of the F 900 GS and the F 900 GS Adventure is guided by new, fully adjustable inverted telescopic forks from Showa.

The Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) electronic suspension is available as optional equipment for the new F 900 GS Adventure and the F 800 GS.

New BMW F 900 GS with optimized ergonomics for off-road use, enduro footrests and aluminium side stand. Optimized adjustable gear lever and, on the F 900 GS, a new foot brake lever.

The off-road qualities of the new F 900 GS are expressed by the ergonomic triangle (handlebars – seat – footrests) optimized for off-road use. The lower footrests in combination with the higher handlebar position and the new fuel tank design provide clear advantages, especially when riding standing up on rough terrain.

All three new models already offer an adjustable gear lever as standard. In conjunction with an optimized bearing and new gear lever kinematics, it has also been possible to further optimize the shifting of the six-speed transmission. Compared to the previous model, the LED headlight on the new BMW F 900 GS offers a greater opening angle of the low beam and therefore better illumination directly in front of the bike. The new F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS also feature LED headlights as standard. In addition, the turn indicator and control lights on all three models also use LED technology.

Connectivity – a wealth of information and functionality in the form of a large, perfectly legible 6.5-inch TFT screen. The new BMW F 900 GS comes as standard with a multifunction holder to accommodate navigation devices, action cameras and much more.

The new GS models in the F series already feature a large 6.5-inch TFT screen as standard. This applies in particular to the F 800 GS, which previously had an analog display. The diversity of information, the quality of the display and, last but not least, the ease of use are excellent. Phoning, listening to music and navigating while riding is very comfortable. The new BMW F 900 GS comes as standard with a 12 mm bracket, which allows action cameras or other devices to be mounted. To install the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator or the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Cradle, the “preparation for navigation” option is also required. BMW F 900 GS with new fairing dimensions, clear design and color scheme that highlight its off-road qualities, sportiness and dynamic performance.

The new BMW F 900 GS has been completely redesigned and benefits from a dynamic design that signals greater off-road and sporting qualities, as well as visually highlighting the 14 kg of reduced weight. One of the key points of the new design is the redesigned plastic fuel tank, which has allowed for a much slimmer and ergonomically more favorable design, with a capacity of just 0.5 liters less than the previous model. The new, close-fitting tank side panels, together with the new radiator shroud, give the new F 900 GS an elegant, sporty, off-road-oriented look. The off-road qualities, sportiness and dynamic performance are also reflected throughout the rear section, which is significantly narrower and more dynamic than the previous model.

The dynamic appearance of the new F 900 GS is further enhanced by the Akrapovič sports rear silencer. The new F 900 GS is available as a basic version in Blackstorm metallic, as a Passion version in São Paulo yellow solid paint and as a GS Trophy version in Lightwhite/Racing Blue metallic solid paint.
