David Alonso secured his third career win in the Moto3 World Championship this Sunday. In yet another thrilling race, the South American rider clinched the win in the final corners of the San Marino GP at Misano.

A strong start for Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), who took the lead ahead of Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda). However, the pole position holder quickly returned to the front in the first corners. Kaito Toba (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda) also joined the battle for the podium, along with Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) and David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar).

While several riders were constantly swapping positions in the battle for second place, Masiá managed to create some gap. His pace was strong and often superior to his competitors. Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) moved up to second place, leading a second group of riders in contention.

The trend at the front changed from the fifth lap onwards when Öncü set a new race lap record and closed the gap to less than one second. With Moreira right behind, a trio emerged in the battle for the lead.

The front group was becoming increasingly compact, with the top six riders separated by less than a second with 12 laps to go. New leader with ten laps left, as Öncü passed Masiá. The Spaniard was then overtaken by David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM) and Alonso – quickly recovering his position against the Colombian.

Öncü, Masiá, Alonso, and Muñoz distanced themselves in the top four positions in the last ten laps.

On the penultimate lap, Muñoz lost contact with Öncü, Masiá, and Alonso, leaving them to battle for the win. Three corners from the finish, Alonso took profit of the duel between Öncü and Masiá: he overtook both rivals grabbing the lead for good to win the race. Masiá finished closely behind the Colombian, while Öncü took third place.

Muñoz and Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) completed the top five. After initially being in the podium hunt, Sasaki finished seventh and Moreira only in 12th place. Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3), the championship leader, lost valuable points by failing to get into the top 15, crossing the finish line in 16th place.

After being the fastest on Friday, Jaume Masiá secured pole position at the Moto3 San Marino GP this Saturday. The Spanish rider once again demonstrated his speed in Misano, outpacing his rivals with his final qualifying lap.

As soon as Q2 began, Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) crashed, but he fortunately suffered no major consequences. Once the initial flying laps were completed, Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda) was in the lead, with David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM) in second and Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) in third.

The timesheet changed considerably when Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) took the lead, 0.115s ahead of Masiá. Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) moved into third place after his first flying lap had been canceled.

As usual, midway through the session, the riders returned to the pits to prepare for their final time attacks in the last few minutes. As he returned to the track, Kaito Toba (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda) took the lead.

However, he was soon overtaken by his fellow countryman Sasaki, who had recovered from his early crash. But then Masiá surged to the top, being 0.243s faster. No one could beat the Spanish rider in the end, who secured the pole position ahead of Sasaki and Toba. Holgado, the championship leader, will start from eighth place.

Deniz Öncü was the fastest rider in the third practice session of the Moto3 San Marino GP at Misano. Like almost all the riders, the Turkish rider set his best lap time this morning in the third session.

After the first flying laps, Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) was the leader, but he was soon overtaken by several riders. In fact, in the first quarter of an hour, there were constant changes at the timesheet, until Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda) managed to hold the lead for about 12 minutes.

The Spanish rider, who was the fastest yesterday, was beaten by Moreira five minutes from the end, before Ivan Ortolá (Angeluss MTA Team/KTM) took the top spot. A few seconds later, Masiá returned to the first position.

However, it was Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) who set the pace, posting a lap time of 1m41.614s. He beat Masiá by 41 thousandths of a second, with David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar) in third. Tayo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) and Ortolá completed the top five.

Ryusei Yamanaka (Gaviota GasGas Aspar) was 14th and secured the last spot in direct qualification for the second qualifying. He was only one thousandth of a second ahead of Riccardo Rossi (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda). Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3), the championship leader, will also have to go through Q1.

Jaume Masiá continues to be in good form and started the Moto3 San Marino Grand Prix at the front of the first practice session. The Spaniard was one of the four riders to break the 1m42s barrier in the opening session at Misano.

Consistently at the top of the timesheets, Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda) only briefly lost the lead for about five minutes after taking it for the first time. At that point, the first five minutes of the session had not yet elapsed.

Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) was Masiá’s main competitor, briefly holding the top spot, but ultimately finishing second, 0.296s behind. Tatsuki Suzuki (Leopard Racing/Honda) took third place, followed by David Alonso (Gaviota GasGas Aspar) and David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports/KTM) in the top five. Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) had a more discreet performance, finishing 13th, 1.058s behind Masiá.

This weekend marks the end of the European phase of the MotoGP World Championships season. The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli hosts the San Marino GP before the upcoming Asian tour in the coming weeks.

After the crash that kept him out of the second start of the Catalan GP, Francesco Bagnaia is fit for Misano. Therefore, he can fight to defend or extend his lead in the MotoGP championship, when he is 50 points ahead of Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati). Further behind is Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati), in third, 71 points off the front. Motivated by the historic 1-2 in Barcelona, Aprilia competes at home with Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, looking to keep the impetus.

In Moto2, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex) leads with a 22-point gap over Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex). Competing on home soil, the Italian seeks to end his less successful period of the season, where he hasn’t been on the podium since the German GP. Arbolino needs to score not only to stay in the title fight but also to distance himself from Jake Dixon (GasGas Aspar/Kalex), who is just 12 points behind.

The Moto3 World Championship is led by Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3). The Spaniard failed to score points for the second time this year in Barcelona but still has a 13-point lead over Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP). The Japanese rider is in good form, finishing always in the top four since the Spanish GP. After returning to the podium, Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing/Honda) is third, 32 points behind the leader.

The San Marino GP marks the end of the MotoE season. Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Los40) is the best-placed in the title fight, leading by 21 points over Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar). Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini) is third, 22 points behind. With 50 points at stake, Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP) is also mathematically in battle, although his 44-point deficit makes his task almost impossible.

Here are the schedule details (CET, local time) for the San Marino GP in all categories:
