Almost before it started… it was over for Marc Marquez in this saturday’s Sprint race. The rider crashed early on and explained that it was a mistake from him that led to such premature ending.

‘Eleven corners go fast (laughs), even though it’s the Sprint and not a Championship race, it was the shortest Sprint of my life. Usually the first few laps are one of my strong points, where I always push, and a large percentage of the time I always get it right, or almost always’, he began to say about his crash, adding after that it wasn’t such a big deal to speak about, confessing it was nothing but a mistake from him:

– Today was one of those days when it went wrong, I pushed in turn 11, I slid a little bit and when I got back in front «bam», my mistake, it was no big deal.

Marquez then addressed the track conditions, and said that today everyone suffered a bit, with the times being a bit slower: ‘We started on Friday with the track slipping, that the grip of the track is setting the limit and you can’t really push the bike. That’s where we were closest, with good paces. Today everyone dropped a second pace and we started to suffer more and we are far away. In the Sprint Race, even if I hadn’t crashed, I would have hardly taken any points, I think I would have been behind Bagnaia, or with Oliveira, because I saw the rhythms and my pace was like that’.
