Miguel Oliveira is under contract with Aprilia to remain with the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP team in 2024, with the possibility of extending it further. Nevertheless, he has been suggested as a possible option to replace Marc Márquez at Repsol Honda, although his current team considers this scenario unlikely.

Razlan Razali stated during the official broadcast of MotoGP Indonesian GP that there isn’t even a possibility of breaking the contract due to a more appealing offer. This suggests that Miguel Oliveira’s commitment to his current team is strong and they have no intentions of letting him go easily: ‘Basically the story is the same. He has a contract with Aprilia, a solid one, 2+2 [years]. So, he will still be with us in 2024. And there isn’t actually a clause that says if he as has a factory offer he can leave Aprilia or RNF. That’s why we know he will be here next year’.

So, why didn’t Razali deny the rumours? ‘Well, basically anything is possible, but in our views he is with us next year’, he said.

Asked if he can understand why Honda would want to talk with Oliveira, the businessman answered: ‘Honda is a big manufacturer, is a big company. It’s only right for them to go and approach whoever they want to approach. It seems they don’t have a back-up plan and it’s Honda – they can go and knock the doors of anybody. And they have to do it because it’s such a big brand and they need to rise up from where they are now. It’s normal for them to approach Miguel, Maverick [Viñales] or whoever, they have to do it. But fortunately we have a legal agreement with our rider and that’s it’.

Razali also addmited that there isn’t an alternative plan for RNF: ‘At the moment no, but if it does happen [Oliveira’s exit] we want to be heavily compensated’.
