Pedro Acosta, one of the big names in the Moto2 world championship, is one of the leading candidates to move up to the premier class. The Spanish rider is leading the Moto2 world championship and many rumors suggest that he will move up to MotoGP in 2024.

Asked about his current situation and whether he hoped to move up to MotoGP next season, Acosta replied: ‘ Everything is open at the moment, of course, I have to wait. Let’s see where I ride next year, maybe I’ll stay in Moto2, I don’t know. At the moment there are two directions, of course I feel it makes more sense for me to move up to MotoGP and I feel it’s the best time to move up. Right now I’m focused on my work and doing my best, but we’ll see. I probably won’t know until the end of the season in Valencia, but for now we’ll have to wait.

There are currently two vacancies in the premier class. GasGas Tech3’s Augusto Fernandez’s position would be the biggest possibility for the Spanish rider, and on the other side there is a vacancy in the Gresini Racing MotoGP team. Two places available that Pedro Acosta, as he said, really wants to be in.
