South Korean motorcycle manufacturer Hyosung is one of the few brands from the Asian country that has managed to make a global impression. Its models are particularly popular in Europe, where licensing restrictions limit the displacement and performance available to novice riders. In France, the brand is distributed by SIMA, which recently launched a new small displacement cruiser, the GV300S-Evo.

The Hyosung GV300S-Evo was designed as the successor to the brand’s Bobber 300. It has received improved equipment and enhanced features, giving it a more premium appearance. For starters, the bike gets LED lights at the front and rear, as well as an LCD instrument panel complete with a gearshift indicator. Hyosung has also included a handy USB socket for added convenience, both in town and on extended trips out of town.

In terms of performance, the Hyosung GV300S-Evo retains the same engine as the Bobber 300. Small displacement twin-cylinder engines like this aren’t very common and, in the case of the GV300S-Evo, it’s a 296 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected twin-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 29.8 hp at 8,500 rpm and 25.6 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Power is also sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed manual transmission.

In terms of styling, Hyosung has given the GV300S-Evo a more elegant and refined look with renewed side guards, an aluminum air filter cover, as well as new details. Ergonomics are optimized for comfort, with a raised handlebar and advanced footpegs for a more traditional cruiser riding triangle.

The new Hyosung GV300S-Evo is supported by a double-axle steel frame. It has an inverted front fork – a notable upgrade compared to the standard telescopic units of its predecessor. Meanwhile, the rear suspension is in charge of a pair of shock absorbers with preload adjustment. In terms of price and availability, the Hyosung GV300S-Evo is already available through the brand’s French distributors. Its retail price is €5,299. There is currently no official information on whether this model will reach the national market, with only the GV300S model available as standard.
